Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black

Today's post is one that I am so excited about. I heard the rumors a while ago that Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen were launching a fragrance and I was so excited. Mary Kate and Ashley have been two style inspirations of mine for a very long time. They are Gemini's like me and I always seem to be drawn to other Gemini's (Kanye West lol). They are always dressed to perfection. Ashley has a more sophisticated, minimalistic style and Mary Kate is  more edgy and cool. I feel like being under the twin sign, I have a mixture of both in me. They are always changing, as am I. That is why I love them.

They were scheduled to launch two fragrances, Nirvana Black and Nirvana White, exclusively at Sephora early next year. However, I found out yesterday that they decided to pre-release it to Sephora's customer. It's available at Sephora December 13th through December 25th. Both fragrances were out of stock online so I ran to my local Sephora to smell them both. I had the VIB Rouge $20 gift card that expired today so I had to act quickly. They both retail at $75 for the 1.7 oz parfum spray. Some might think that is expensive but it is the parfum and not the toilette.

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen's Elizabeth and James Nirvana came in two different scents. They said that they wanted to capture the duality of their brand and also of themselves. I love that idea. Nirvana Black is the one I purchased. It comes in this textured but sleek rectangular bottle with gold sides. It's so beautiful to look at. The only way I can describe this scent is deep and dark. I love the mystery behind it. It makes me think of a romantic night, taking a walk on the beach at night with your love or bundling up with a coffee and watching a movie. Those things are my nirvana. Sephora describes this one as "sensual. deep. mysterious." They say it "strikes the perfect balance of masculine and feminine." The notes are sandalwood, vanilla and violet. I love vanilla so I knew I would like this one. This is a more grown up version of my usual scents. I'm so happy I purchased this fragrance. I feel like I'm stepping it up with this one.

I really liked Nirvana White too. This surprised me because I don't usually like floral scents. This one is described on Sephora's website as "Delicate peony, muguet, and musk wrap an alluring sophistication around a soft blend. Nirvana White comes in the same bottle as Nirvana Black,  except that it's black. I think I would like Nirvana White in the daytime and and Nirvana Black in the night. I am seriously considering purchasing this one too.

If you go into Sephora between now and Christmas, make sure to give these two a sniff. You just might fall in love.

 I'm obsessed with this bottle.
